2004 Solara Throttle Lag

I think the real issue is that they continue to have issues and have no clue how to fix it. That to me is the sad part.

Too true!!

It's amazing to me, with the engineering capabilities Toyota has - through the proven track results they have in the racing community - heads and shoulders above Nissan, yet Nissan kicks their ass in performance passenger cars.

WTF???!!! :x

Update

Postby crazygreek » Wed Nov 29, 2006 10:37 am

Finally got a chance to take the car to the dealership last Friday. They went ahead and did the ECm update again (I guess there was a newer release then what they had put on the car last time). Problem seems to have gotton alot better. Still noticable but not as bad as it used to be. Has a lot better transition on the lower end gear shift than before. So I am at the momment pleased with the update. I made a comment to the tech about the lag causing the tranny to jerk forward if that will have any adverse affects on the car, since it is under a 100,000 Mile warrenty to make sure everything is working properly. He said it shouldn't but to keep an eye on it. So I will update again in a few weeks after driving it to see if the problem has been resolved. Otherwise CPe upgrade with new TRD exhaust should fix the problem..... :D

I HOPE.....Just have to convince the wife or buy it for Christmas and label it from Santa. LOL

The dealer I took my car to this morning tells me that the throttle lag TSB is not applicable to the vin number of my 2004 V6 Auto. Does anyone know if there are indeed further qualifications for the TSB other than the fact that its a 2004 V6 Auto? Any suggestions on a course of action?

Its good to hear the update worked a little bit. I tried to have the tsb performed only to find their computer was rejecting my ecu after about half of the download.
