I think Jeff was kidding. The chassis is grounded to the electrical system but not to the Earth. This won't help your situation.
You'll see products out there claiming to solve this problem. A couple years ago, when everyone was paranoid the urban stories about static shock igniting gas vapors during fuel fill. These companies came out with wild products to "solve the problem." I have yet to hear of one that works.
Nothing from urban story....it's a fact ! Don't ever go back in your car during you fill up your car...why do you think they took off the "lock" on the gas handle (up here in Canada...) to avoid people returning in their car and go back touch the handle create a spark...a stupid invisible spark to ignite the fuel vapors...it takes almost nothing to this volatile gas to ignite...be aware
