We had a lexus dealership replace the tranny in our ES (under warranty) and i did a carfax 6 months thereafter..nothing came up. So i'm guessing nothing will come up with yours as well. Word of advise: with all the problems you have had, do maintain a great record system. You may need it in the future.

Goodluck man.

Well, keep in mind that stealerships are usually hesitant to change those sorts of things, especially since the modern transmission ain't what it used to be... I'm speaking from experience with a 2004 SenCrap / Universal City Nissan.

Ok, woooohoooo! I can't believe how sweet my new transmission is. My car has never driven like this before. It's better than new (22 months later). I used regular ATF even with the new tranny because I wanted a direct comparison with the old one (and 12 quarts x $7 sucks if it's just going to blow up again). Good times, I knew it wasn't running right.

Glad to hear, but if you want to, go ahead and switch to synthetic now, because it'll mess up your transmission if you wait too long (e.g. being TOO slick and cause slipping). I'd switch to Royal Purple, but I have 98,000 miles and there are numerous hints that my car was owned by a woman ;-) (e.g. worn-out to bitter hell interior, curb rash, pitch-black brake/trans fluid).

Don't sweat it. Carfax only gathers public records involving a VIN. Toyota service is not a public record. Title changes show up. I think some accidents. But basically it's useless.
