Went out to Toyota tonite to see if I could get my garage door opener out of it. Doors locked, but the "other black key" that i dont use all the time and the valet key are laying right on the seat in plain view. I can't believe they would do something sooooo stupid. I hope someone steals it- then i can get a diff one.

I don't get it. Pardon my naiveté, but wouldn't the failure codes be stored in the car's computer?

When the car does start after no response, do you still have the correct time and radio station presets?

Yes, I have the right radio stations and time. They think its the computer but say that its "too expensive" to replace it at a random guess.
