I'll diogress some more
I will keep a record of the mileage as reported by the computer, and mileage the old fashioned way, with paper and pencil, and see if there is a difference. I see people slam the computer, but they probably have different sized tires from the stock 215/55/17's.
Anywho, the VVTi also makes a big difference since it times for mileage if you stay at one speed for very long. This is part of the lag equation since it has to retime for power if you step into it.
So staying put on the throttle is a good idea. Cruise control is the way to go.
I am getting some work done next week and will post a favorable service review, I am sure, at that time. NOT a dealer, but a long-time favorite garage in the area.
