Convertible Owners: anyone got the windscreen ?

It's only used when there's no back seat passengers, since the screnn covers the back seat. It has grommets thst insert where the hole is cut, and it keeps the screen tite.

Do you have some play in the install? I recline my seat quite a bit and would need to install a couple inches back from where it is in that picture. I never use the back seat so I'm thinkin' I'll get this for her birthday.

Damn, I looked to insalling June's but we got to driver side brackets. Now I'm gonna have to try exchanging it. But, the install looks pretty simple.

back seat unavailable

Postby jeancyril » Mon May 30, 2005 3:42 am

I can confirm that the back seat is unavailable when the windscreen is on. I don't know how to post a picture or I would have. It does allow you to toss stuff in the backseat without having it blow out though.[/img]

They posted pics in the Pictures forum. Tip for a newb... don't bring dead threads to life unless you're adding real info or bringing a new Q to the table. No big... just sayin'. (Someone got mini-flamed last week for the same.)

But for pics, get them out there on the web (imageStation, CarDomain, etc.) then find them, right click for properties, copy the URL address. Then paste that into your post. Hightlight the address and hit Img to put image tags around it. Happy posting! Try it out in the Pics/Video forum.

What about the back seat?

Postby svieson » Wed May 24, 2006 10:53 am

I have seen all the pics so now I understand fully that the windscreen is only for the front seat passengers. One of my driving factors for buying the Solara was so that I could carry the family. So... I am looking for a back seat windscreen.

The other day I was driving home and saw a Lexus SC430 and between the headrests of the back seat, it had a nice looking piece of glass as a windscreen. From what I have researched, it is stock, not aftermarket.

There is a metal bar on my Solara on the back seat the stretches from one headrest to the other. Looks like a good place to clip on a windscreen.

Anyone know if that has a future as a back seat Windscreen component or if the SC430 windscreen fits? Get my drift?

Thanks

Check out this link, it's much more recent than this thread (this thread died a year ago).

I see what you're sayin' - I haven't heard of any retofit for that to date - but it sounds logical. Probaly have to create a custom bracket and piece of plexiglass.

I'll try to post this in every "new" Windscreen post that pops-up...

Part# is PT906-06041

New shipments are making their way to dealers this month (Jan 07) - but contact Reggie here on SG (NVDIS1) and he'll hook you up! ;)
