full size spare

full size spare

Postby scottshiv » Thu May 06, 2004 5:42 am

I was planning on trading in my 1999 Solara on a 2004 until I found out that the 2004's do not have a full size spare. Does anybody know if the 2005's will have a full size spare?

I think whoever puts the spare tires in the 2004 Solaras is on drugs. My '04 SLE has a donut. :(

Then again, you are in Canada...

Looks like USA got gipped. Its showing temp spares for all models (Click the "tire" tab).I have no idea why they would do that though. And I dont know why some people in the US are gettin full size spares either. Maybe they needed extra insurance to make sure they could run a flat 7 in the 0-60 for the V6s, as well as cuttin a few costs along the way

If the chassis is the same, as I assume it would be, then a full size should fit in the spare compartment in the US ones, so just get the car, get a steelie, wrap a bridgestone RE92 (or whatevers standard issue now) around it, an throw it in the trunk. Instant full size spare. You can find something creative to do with the donut too.

^^ thats why I like Canadians. We would just do something stupid like drop it off a high building and see how many times it bounces. Probably wont be much different from the broken microwaves...Bounces once and rolls to a stop. No that wasnt my idea.

I was so mad initialy for being ripped of with the price for the SLE in Canada (compared to the US), but later realized that canadian spec SLE comes fully loaded with stability control, front and rear head airbags, full size tire etc.
