The nav unit is nice. Makes it a tough decision for me to choose between an upgrade between a NAV or a supercharger.

It was purchased in Lancaster, Pennsylvania... however the car was tranferred from Maryland. 3 weeks ago it was hard to find a Silver SLE w/nav, that is why we had it transferred.

Why is it such a light gray interior? The two Lunar Mists I have seen, including the one I'm buying, have nearly black interiors (a very, very dark gray).

It could have been the lighting... BUT the leather in the 04 solaras is MUCH lighter then the Gen 1's. I actually like the lighter look... it gives it a much classier feel. If you get the beige leather, the dash is even lighter in color.

The silver sle only comes in the dark stone leather, which is what I have. I test drove 3 different SLE's with dark stone leather, and they all look identical to the one I purchased.

I'm certain it is the lighting. I own the same interior as you. With a bright flash plus light from the day, a darker interior will seem lighter in a photograph. What a beautiful car you own (oops, that's right, it's the same as mine minus the navigation!)

That is ridiculous... all of Canada is included on the DVD map. Thats odd... maybe they only map out the larger cities.

actually I think it is more of offering just a few models for simplification (at cost savings)...
You cannot buy a 4-cyl SLE here and the only SLE V6 avaliable is the fully loaded one with VSC and curtain airbags (no additional options to the SLE avaliable other than engine heater...)

I like the center console with the extra gauges. It would be sweet to have it installed in a gen 1. I do like the gauge cluster setup and color better than gen1, but it could be better. I really don't like the blue and green (a/c, 3 gauges, etc), it should be one color (I'd prefer the blue). I still feel like I would definately drive it (only if I didn't have to look at the exterior)!

I somewhat agree on the interior lighting scheme. There are days I wish it was all the blue. But then while driving, I enjoy having the two colors. In any case, I don't think the two colors is unattractive in the least.

Have you seen a 2004 in person? It's quite a different experience to walk around the car and enjoy its lines rather than look at a flat picture. But to each his/her own. I also enjoy the look of generation 1 Solaras, as well.

I did check it out at the local dealership. The front is ok. It's the back that I don't like, primarily the tail lights. The way it wraps around the top of the trunk. I guess that's Toyotas future and something I'll have to get used to...
