How do you tell if a 2007 Solara Sport V6 has VSC

Noob question but I can't find the answer to that on the internet. So what do i look for in the car to see if it has the vehicle stability control or possibly traction control installed?

Punch it in dirt or wet surfaces.

toyota website displays VSC/TC as an option for 08, i suppose it's the same as for 07 as well.

It was an option on my 07SLE as well. There is an annoying beeper and light on the dash when the VSC kicks in. Believe me it kicks in when you play in the snow or get aggressive on wet roads. That is unless you drive like a granny.

If you have it, there is a dissable button left of the wheel on the lower dash. When pressed an indicator icon will light up on the dash.

I noticed there's a difference between Traction Control and Vehicle Stability Control.

The button I mentioned disables the TC but not the VSC. The TC cuts the power to the wheel while VSC works the brakes. I am not sure if the 2 can be gotten separately or if package together. Mine has both.

There should be a "Trac Off" button above your "Tire Pressure Warning Reset" button to the left of your steering wheel right by your left knee. If you don't see it you don't have traction control nor do you have vehicle stability control being that they both are equipped together. As far as I know it was always an option, even on the SLE models.

On my coupe I have one security button and two 'dummy' buttons for the convertible options. I think I've seen some Gen 2 coupes with no dummy buttons.....odd.

My VSC kicks in when I take corners fast sometimes or when after I take corners hard and I accelerate fast then it kicks in

Start The Car

Postby red2002solara » Thu Sep 10, 2009 12:17 pm

When you start the car the VSC button will briefly flash; that will tell you if you have VSC. My SLE V6 has VSC and Trac, but I can only turn Trac off. VSC stays on all the time.

I believe all V6 Gen 2 Solaras have VSC, and all should have push button traction control unless it's a sport. Sports will have traction control unless in Tiptronic Shifting mode.
