need a new set of tires...please help decide

We got our 2004 V6 SE about 3K ago (61k miles as of now) These Kumho Solus KH16 are begging for retirement, i need a new set of tires (all season). I have looked on tirerack.com and I'm even more confused now after reading reviews of different 215/55/17's
I need help on deciding what tires to get. I was looking at Kumho's Exsta LX Platinum and Good Year Eagle GT ($100 + a piece). We just bought our first house after moving to IL from NYC so lot of expenses coming up and that's why I would rather stay in $100-130 price range. Any all season tires that are good and trouble free? What are Your experiences?
Thanks

P.S.
I'm not a race driver, would like to get something quiet with decent handling.

I'm rockin a set of BF Goodrich g-Force Sport tires and I absolutely love them. Great dry/wet handling..its HUGE upgrade compared to the stock OE Turanzas I use to have.

I bought 205-60-16 Dunlop Signature tires for my Solara. I love it!
I didn't know that it would make such a big difference compare to "cheap" tires.
There is better tires then mine, there is always something better, but I really enjoy my car again now.

Discount Tire is currently offering pretty big discounts at the moment, especially if you have a line of credit with them.

if you purchase ANY set of 4 tires, and have a line of credit, its $50 mail-in rebate, until 4/30

any set of 4 Michelin or BFGoodridge tires, excluding BFG Precept, recieve $70 mail-in, until 4/26

any set of 4 Dunlop tires, recieve $50 mail-in or a $75 Amazon gift card, until 5/02

my checkout price on 4 BFG g-force sports, in the 195/55VR15 variety is $356 shipped. since i have an account with them, and purchased BFG's, i should be at $236 when its all said and done

disclaimer: i am not affiliated with nor am i attempting to promote discount tire, michelin, bfgoodridge, or dunlop. i just stumbled on a sale, thought i would spread the word to the crx community. everybody needs tires sooner or later, may as well save some money while you can.

BS Potenza RE960AS Pole Positions are an all-season ultra-high performance tire that track straight, ride very well, quiet, very good handling, and super in the wet. They are even acceptable in modest snow.

Not the cheapest tires, but wear is very good as well. I am quite pleased with these, and I believe they are still rated among the top in that category.

G/L!

(Personally, I'm NOT a fan of Goodyear Eagle GT's... although I've heard they are better now than back when I used them many years ago.)

When I got this car it had a set of toyo tires that were dry rotten/ I got a set of Kumho ecsta asx and they are great / never loose traction (even when I try to very hard I might add) actually made a trip to Indiana and drove through that huge "ice storm" and even being a street tire I rearely spun or slid. Got them for about $130 a piece I think, Then again I get them for 10% over cost

I still have the original OEM Bridgestone Turanza's at 73,000 miles. :o (Me thinks it's also time to get new tires.) I pretty much take the reviews from any source with a grain of salt, especially consumer-written reviews, and just go with a moderate priced tire that offers the best promotion. I really can't overthink my next choice in tires being that 98% of the tires out there today beat the snot out of even new OEM Turanza's anyway. Next week I'm thinking of getting Yokohama's Avid V4S, here they have a "buy 3 get 1 free" deal. They can't be any louder than my worn stockies on Ohio's crumbling roads and any worse on snow/ice than my worn stockies.

I decided to go with Good Year Eagle GT (All season)....they are 5th place in TiresRack ratings and seem to be great tires, besides i have good experiences with Good Year. Ordered them Thursday and next day had them in my garage. Going to have them installed at discount tire.

I'd probably go for Continental SportContact 3 for summer and Michelin PilotAlpin for winter. Both have impressive traction and decent noise level. And they last long if you switch summer/winter in time. The key is to have each set on separate rims waiting in your garage.

I know what You're saying...that is ideal, but since i'm on a budget like most of us these days i had no choice but to get decent all season tires...i had my new GoodYear's mounted on today morning and I'm very happy after the first 130 miles i drove today + they look good on the car, much better than Kumho Solus KH16 my car had before. At least to me.
