What's a good price for a new 08 Solara SLE

I'm shopping around for a new car and knowing Toyota has axed Solara down the road, i'm thinking about getting another one while i can. I test drove a SLE today (non ragtop) and the dealer was offering $25,000. I'm just wondering what's a good price for a SLE.

honestly, i think that the only solaras worth getting now are the convertibles. We know that it's gonna get axed, so theres not much point in trying to create a last minute surge of sales to convince toyota to stop its elimination.

if you're gonna get a solara, though, get a v6 sport convertible. That way, we can have one more sport lip kit floating around out there, so we don't encounter the same problems the gen 1 has, with a lack of lip kits.

As far as I know a Gen 2.5 Sport Convertible would be the only one in this forum.

ever watch the Barrett Jackson Auction???? cars that sold for <6000 back in the day going for right round a Mil.......

all numbers matching, all ORIGINAL ( no mods), low miles, all paper work., kept Stock for 30 years or so, maybe even more because we drive imports.... .......
sounds like too much hassle for me to call my car an investment.

I think xcgames is simply looking for a new car and is happy with the Solara, I think I would be in the same mindset if I was looking for a new car. As for the price, you can probably find a hardtop SLE for a little cheaper ESPECIALLY if you get 1 or more Toyota dealerships competing for your business. Keep in mind, although Toyota dealers didn't sell them as much as Camrys in the good ol' days, they still won't haggle as much on Solaras even in this crappy economy. I was taking a look at a used '07 Gen 2 SE Sport Convertible here a few weeks back and the dealer is still rigid on the $26,500 asking price, but he knows he can because from my research there isn't another Sport convertible for sale in a 200 mile radius.

I'm more than perfectly happy with the current car, but it's getting old. I'm not looking to "invest" into a car by any means, I just wanted to see if what's a reasonable price for a SLE from a dealer. Bad economy = easier to negotiate a good deal.
