no points of impact or anything. got home at 2am and parked car outside... left at 7am to find this happened.. and NO I didn't pour hot water on it. cracks are consistent throughout the rear windshield.

I think someone popped you with a BB gun. Won't leave a mark that you can find easily in all that mess.

I was thinking BB gun also but it was in a 5hr wiindow where its about 40F here? I cant see anyone drunk or not being that bored. plus if it was a BB gun there should be a starting point. the cracks were consistent on the entire thing!

even the window guy was wtf? and luckily the tint held it all together.

so any other theories before i send this to the xfiles or someone?

i once heard that if you throw a spark plug at a window, and it hits with the contacts, something happens where it causes the glass to shatter/spiderweb like that.

probably an old wives tale, but let us know if you find a loose spark plug near your car.

sucks for the window though, hope it doesn't mess up 2009 for you.

Same thing happened to my parents car years ago.

They had a Cadillac back in the 80s. We were stopped at a red light when all of a sudden, the rear window just shattered. No one hit us and the guy behind us said nothing hit us.
Insurance company said it was probably due to stress. Mounting, temperature and humidity will all play a factor.

Insurance should cover it.

Good luck.
