I don't think there's a difference... How old is your garage door? Usually ones made 1982-199X (I forgot which year; it was between 1992-1996) are easier to program... Anything after 199X has "rolling code", so instead of programming the remote to HomeLink, the HomeLink has to program to the garage door opener by pressing "smart" or "learn" on the garage and programming ALL remotes AND the car... If you forget one, you'll have to start over to program that one.
Also, I don't know if it's the case in Russia, but in Canada there was a regulation that limits remote transmission to 2 seconds, so while programming you may have to release the button every 2 seconds, but check the manual for your garage door opener.
One last thing to check for is the battery... It's best to program the HomeLink with a new battery in the remote, since even though there might be enough power to use it to open/close the garage, the remote might be running out of power halfway through programming.
