Trunk Lid Problem

Trunk Lid Problem

Postby combinationLock » Fri Jul 13, 2007 7:57 pm

Starting yesterday, when i open the trunk with either the lever or the button on the key, the trunk pops open.. but only an inch! :-?

Before that, it used to open and lift itself a foot from closing point and i have no idea what is causing it. I plan on taking it to the dealership within the next month, but im posting here to ask if anyone else had this problem with their gen 2. Anyone?

Mine has never popped up more than about a 1/2" and since I added the '07 Sport Spoiler on it, it's about a 1/4" now.

No offense, but that'd be a waste of $96. Be it open all the way, or an inch up- its still nonetheless...open.

hrmmm, well, i don't have a gen2, but i'm thinking the best way to figure out if it's supposed to fully lift up or not would be to check to see if there's any sort of actuator mechanism that is supposed to raise it up, or if it's just a manual-lift trunk lid...

just a thought....

i can bet u that its sticking to the lining, that black foamy thing
sometimes i can hear it "rip" off, like its sticky
try opening it and wiping the black foamy lining and open it again, i bet it will open further

You could upgrade your shock lifter.
