run flat is extremely expensive, not worh it. And run flat just means you can run flat at 50mph until you found a tire shop to help you replace another tire. it still require replacement after you got nails.

my friend's 1 years old bmw 330i already replaced 3 run flat tires, about $400 each

ouch! a lot of new luxury cars are using run flat tires as standard. i was hoping only cost a little more than regular tires.

i don't mind driving slowly when it's punctured. i just don't wanna pull over and replace my tires. it feels so ancient, lol.

Another thing to keep in mind is that most run flat tires use a solid core, which means that the day-to-day ride quality with them are more stiffer and more interior road noise. Luxury cars know how to compensate for this with better noise dampening and the shocks are tuned differently and is that way from the factory.

Besides, don't you just love pulling over, changing it and drive with the car forcing itself to turn to the side? [/sarcasm]

The tire guys need a special machine for run flats due to the rigidity. The average "down the street mechanic" can't fix 'em cause they don't want to spend the money for machines that support them..

hehe good point. but, doesn't AAA only willing to toll your car for a short certain miles (most likely 5miles) before they start charging you?
