Your stock rims are 17" x 7" with a 5 x 114.3 mm bolt pattern and a +50 mm offset. I would try to stick as close to this as possible unless you find someone here that can tell you they are using a similiar size rim to those you are considering with no problems on their Gen 2.

I took a look at the Motegi DP10 wheels (nice), but I don't see any with a 5 x 114.3 mm bolt pattern.

Also, why bother getting 17" rims? The 17" OE tires basically suck anyway. So "do it right" and go to 18's, 19's or 20's. My rims are 18" x 8" with a +40 mm offset and I've had no problems at all using them with 235/45-18 tires, although 225/45-18 tires will give you more and better options.

i believe that 5x 4.5 is the same as 5x114.3

yea, i would love to go for 18's... but im a little short on money, eheh. Being a college student does that, lol. Plus the 18's on the DP10 weigh 23.5 Lbs. Im not quite sure, but isnt that heavier than the stock rims? If i go with heavier rims, im really scared i might lose some Horsepower. Does anyone know if this is true?

Just how close do I have to stick to the +50 mm offset? Im having a real hard finding a set of rims that has +50 mm offset. So from what ur saying, DocJohn, +40 mm offset should alright, right?

Lastly, does someone have a pic of a Silver Gen2 with black rims /w the chrome lip? Im really thinking of trying something like that, haha.

yeah 40 offset you'll be fine...... checkout my car I have 42 offset 19x8.5
no rubbing or what so ever and I'm lowered with eibach springs.....I'm thinking about getting another set of rims for my car black with polish lip too

Alright, I see that 5x114.3 or (5X4.5) is the bolt pattern.... My question is would a 5x112 most certainly not work on the 04 Solara....

why buy aftermarket 17"s ? Thats like gen 1 owners buying aftermarket 15s. Save your money and get 19's or 20's. You'll be happier in the long run. You'll regret the 17s
