Rear Suspension Noise and Sulphur dioxide smell

Rear Suspension Noise and Sulphur dioxide smell

Postby jig47 » Thu Sep 29, 2005 3:46 pm

Could someone please provide a link for this TSB for suspension/strut noise: SU001-04. Also, I have a sulphur dioxide smell whenever I gun my six cylinder. I don't know why there is no TSB for the v-6 Solara because this problem seems to cut across the whole Toyota lineup. I have tried several different gas companies and octanes as well. Any info on this would be appreciated as well.

I know Toyota had a huge issue involving the converter smell. It had to do with the wash coat and loading on the converter substrate. I know they released special service only parts for the RX330 and Sequoia. (Specificly to fix this issue. Our company doesn't make the Camry / Solara front pipes, but I'll check into it and see if I can get a part number and bulletin.)

Unfortunately, that TSB is only for the 2AZ-FE engine while jig has the V6.

Thanks for pointing that out Dave, I was in a bit of a hurry when I posted up the original thread/link.

I was told by the service manager that they would still perform the tsb on the 3MZ-FE. I haven't had a chance to search on their data base for new updates. Perhaps someone can help if they have some time on their hands.
