Due date for Next Gen Solara?

Due date for Next Gen Solara?

When is the next generation Solara due out? Is anyone hearing anything on the gravepine?

I just saw the spy shots for the supposedly 2007 Camry. Can't say I like it too much. If it's a platform change, then the next Solara should follow soon, no?

By Toyotas history, next Solara (middle model change, Gen 2.5) should be due in MY 2007 (Late 2006 Release). They might ride that til 2008-9, then Solara will be put to pasture to make way for something else.

Rumor has it it will get the 2GR-FE for 2.5 with around 280HP.

That is if they make a 2.5. They might just stop at Gen2....I say if you dont hear about a 2.5 by Q1 2007, Gen2 will be the last.

I thought Toyota redesigns every 5 years, so that would make the 2009 model the next gen for Solara, in my opinion.

If they do decide to kill the solara, what will that do to resale prices?

I really hope they won't do that. Solara is much more upscale than the Celica.

Toyota always seems to be pretty good at keeping future models secret. I can't imagine them abandoning this part of the market segment (But it's not like I haven't guessed wrong before.).

Unless some rumored Supra is going to be positioned as such. Which would be a stretch for sure. . .

I sure would like to see a photo of a 2.5 Gen, though. Hope they don't mess it up like they did the now-departed Celica-- the mid-cycle grill change did nothing good for the car.

I'll bet if there was a Supra (or other true sports type) in future release, it's definately going to be pushed back now with the gas problems...

sorry.. that wasnt what I meant by that.. what I meant was that they from what I was told they were going to put more focus on the solara.. Like with TRD options and what not.. that they were planning on keeping around.. it was a good car that they were getting a very positive response out of... sorry for the confusion..
