ECP and TSB and waranty expiry.

ECP and TSB and waranty expiry.

When I negotiated at the start of my new job I asked for today off to service my solara as I had been waiting a while to get it done.

I had the the the oil change ( the big service of the 2) it came with a tire rotation and all the checks of parts brakes ect, and they said the tranny fluid was due for a change

I also had them look at my wheel that had the bulge on the sidewall.

and had them look at 3 TSBs wich i printed off ( left pull, moon roof grind, and the throtle lag)

The service advisor did not put them on the work order but included my sheets on the back and said they would look at it.

Non of the TSBs were performed, they said they were American problems and they hadnt got the info on it yet in Canada.

Same car yet Toyota Canada dosent recognise these problems?

So the problems still exist, great service!!

So then they said my waranty was over and it would cost me to have the probs fixed and they had no space for me if I wanted them done and quoated me 400 for the roof fix i said for 400 ill put up with the fart noise.

Then I was told my ECP ( extra care protection) extended waranty didnt cover the fixes. My question is why and it still hasnt been answered, what exactly did I buy the extended waranty for?

As I read in the covered components by the ECP that Steering: colum shafts and couplings are covered, that should cover the left drift issue

under the electrical system the power windows motors and regulators are covered that should cover the graon in the roof

and under high tech it says speedsensors, transmission shift control computer and taht should cover the throtle lag if you ask me

so if all this is covered in the extended waranty and they dont recognise american TSBs why cant the problems be fixed, I mean im even giving them the paper work showing them how to do the fix come on!!!!!!!!

Side note the tire with the buldge on side wall is to be trashed and replaced Toyota wants 260 for a new tire and i knew someone could beat it, so i declined the replacement.

To make things even more sweeter when I get home i see the tire that has the bulge on it hasnt moved so they didnt rotate my tires? did they do any of the work i start to wonder, I called back and asked why and they told me it was because the tire would be replaced so they asumed i would put the new tires up front then put the best 2 on the back.

That is fair enough

But id also like to throw in that i have a full size spare with rim in the trunk and i dont need to buy the 2 tires they tried to sell me just 1 new one thank you and ill put the full size spare on the other side giving me a new set up front and the odd tire out will become my new used full size spare.

what I really want is 4 new differnt brand of tires on there but money wont allow it.

what a day

TC006-05 (throttle lag) is covered under the emissions warranty for 96 months or 80,000 miles. You shouldn't even have to worry about about the extended warranty for the throttle lag.

Sorry to hear about your dealer problems. You must be driving many miles per year to be out of warranty already. Just wondering. How come you didn't bring the car in for the noisy sunroof and left drift right before the standard warranty ended? Did you get the Toyota Extended warranty? If so, it covers almost everything. At least the 7 yr/70,000 mile one I got does.

Man, that stinks. Talk about a bad day ... I'd really push hard on the throttle lag TSB. The TSB doesn't even specify a VIN range, it simply says 2004-2005 Solaras with the 3MZ-FE engine.
