rotten egg smell on hard acceleration on my 2005 v6 SLE

I have noticed that when I punch the accelerator (5000-6000 rpm) I will usually get a smell coming from under my car like a rotten egg. At first I thought I was driving through standing water, but realized it was the exhaust after awhile. Anyone know if there is a TSB for this? :o

the 02-04 2AZ solara had this issue... they replaced the cat converter and reprogrammed the ECU.

No issue on the 3MZ though... you may want to take it to the dealer and see what they say...

describe it as an OVERWHELMING SULFURIC ODOR WHEN STARTING/DRIVING THE CAR

The TSB states that if the CEL/MIL (check engine light/malfunction indicator light) is not on, then they will just recommend you to try a different brand of fuel.

EG003-03 was the TSB on the 2AZ.

Please use the SEARCH feature before posting since most of these questions have been discussed in the past. :)

I went ahead and searched this topic and below are two links that should address your question.

Anyone smell eggs when they get on the throttle?

Current 04 Solara TSBs as of 8/2
