How to take out the cup holder?

i always put money and papers in my cup holder and flip the thing over to cover it. this pushed money inbetween the flap and the cup holders. when i try to take off the flap to get to the money, it seems like its goin to break. How can i get it off without breaking it?

I took mine out when i had to. It's only held by clips, Uncover it and try to get one side up, once you get one side up, it should be self explainatory. pull firmly because its only held by clips.
