Headlight alignment

Headlight alignment

Postby rohand » Wed Dec 08, 2004 5:01 pm

Does anyone feel that the headlights on their Solara are pointed up too high? I've noticed that the lights light up the car in front of me more than they light up the ground right in front of me. I guess that's what the fog lights are for, but I don't always like to drive with them on. I did install aftermarket bulbs, if that makes a difference, but I don't see why it would affect anything. I've been meaning to post this up for a week now, and I finally got a chance to tonight.

Mine don't point up too high, they actually give me a very good panoramic view. I have only had one person ever flash brights at me before, so that's a good sign.

My headlights beam just fine but I wonder, is the "Ellipsoid" projection system a gimmick or is it for real? My car projects light much further than my mom's 99 camry. It's almost like the DRLs are on.

um... i don't think it's too high... it's very high compare with normal car, but it's ok on solara i think...
since it use weird projector system which use weird H11 light bulb.. :o
the light spread out alot on H11 projecter and no real focus like other normal projector, so it's not really hurting ppl when ppl look into the light...
bad thing about it is the projecter wont' change color like those S2000 or BMW...
and since it's not focus very well, i guess that's why toyota make fog light standard on all solara to add the light in night.

that makes a lot of sense...I'm glad to see my car isn't the only one whose lights don't really focus at one point. i'm really used to projectors, considering my camry didn't have them. Thanks a lot guys

I get at least one to two people a week at night that flash their high beams at me. not sure if that's because the lights are so high, or if the actual lights themself are that bright. I just flash my highbeams at them and that usually sets them straight... and blind!
