Ticking Noise???????

Ticking Noise???????

Postby Jewls » Mon Jun 28, 2004 7:57 am

Ok when my car is running, you can hear this constant ticking sound. The dealer says that this is caused by the hydraulic lifters, and that this is totally normal, but never heard that noise when I was in other 04's. Anyone else hear it?

Well, got the car back. They swear that the ticking is normal for the type of motor and the lifters. As far as the left drift, my VIN# came after they made the fix on the line, so they say my alignment was WAY off from the factory, and that it is now fixed. It still pulls to the left a little, but nowhere near as much as it did before. :-?

what u have heat is a tsb (technical service bulletin) if the tech did an alignment what he did was pull ur tires to the right alot. :agrue: ...the real thing to do is tell them to check the tsb's and they gonna see they have to order big camber bolts from japan and install them till then it wont be fixed no matter what u do :drinking:

The dealer is giving you a buncha BS. He knows exactly what you're talking about. It took them 3 tries to fix mine. Take it back. I just hate going to the dealership for service.

Well, my VIN# comes after the ones listed for the TSB. They said my alignment was just way off. It still pulls to the left a little, but nowhere near what it used to. I used to have to hold the wheel at 1 o clock!!!

Still not fixed huh? How many times has it been in the shop? Make them fix it! It just get's so annoying when I take my hand off the steerring wheel, it starts to pull to the left. You'll feel better once it's fixed, I know I did. :)

The dealer said it was hydraulic lifters... If that's the case, my old ride '95 MX-3 it was ticking and it had lots of miles on it and they told me it needed to be clean and that's the reason for the noise. If it's the same noise that we're refering to. The ticking noise only occurred while the car was running.

I'm not hearing any noise on mine, but I'm going to double check while it's in the garage and see if I can hear anything.
