i think i found the solution to the parking lot ding problem with the unprotected sides of the solara. aside from the dealer having a very discreet aftermarket body side moulding that they install in the exact color of your car. theres this... http://shop.store.yahoo.com/rodi/pasmmadogu.html
its really cheap and doesnt have to always be on the car. when you park just whip these babies out and your good to go. i just wouldnt feel safe with out some kind of protection. and for 15 bucks its a bargain. some places sell them for 29.95

The product is a nice idea, however it's magnetic and could be easily removed in the parking lot while you are away from your car. Also, $15 may not seem too much at all for one, you better buy it by the bulk...lol. You're going to need to replace it each day...LOL. :D

Great idea. They just need to make it more secure so that no one can just take it.

I usually just park far from everyone else or find a really nice car to park next too. Another method could be taking up two spots. :D

I've seen some people take up two spots and someone just park next to them and intentionally hit their car. I guess just to prove a point. :o

Almost 8 months now without any dings, scrapes, or dents. Just park further out (remember, most people are lazy and will not park far out) and/or take end spots, hugging the side away from the next car.

Door dings are inevitable. If you live in the city you are guaranteed dorr dings and rock chips. There are some parking lots that are full to the max, like at work where you have no choice. This product is s good idea, but I think it needs to be more camoflauged like having them match it to your paint so it looks like it belongs on the car.
