silly why didnt i think of that sooner fix to wet windows

Ive complained about the wet windows thing b4 on here you know when you wash your car and the windows look great then you take a drive put your windows down ( lets say at a McDonalds drive threw window) then you put your window up and it leaves wet all over your newly clean window.

Its because of that silly peice of felt thats on the rubber it should have been left all rubber the felt absorbs the water from the car wash or rain and then until its dry and seems to take a while it screws up your windows.

the fix: pry it back stick a cloth in there and wipe! DUH

just stick it down a fingernails length.

Thanks for the tip. I hate lowering my windows because of that. At least the Solara doesn't streak like my Rustang (I know it is mispelled) did. I'll give this a try after the rain tonight!

Try RainX, I had it on my windows the first day I had the car, I never knew what you guys are talking about streaks till the rainx wore off and i started to get them hope this help ya..

YES! I suggest all Solara owners follow his advice on Rain-X on the windows. You'll be using your wipers a lot less then you are used to as well.

That way the water just slips off the windows, problem solved.

Yeah, but does RainX solve the problem of side windows staying wet for a few days after a rain every time you lower them and raise them? I don't see how it could solve that problem.

RainX is money. It wont solve the problem but it will help by not allowing the water to stick to the window as easily. Nothing beats driving during the rain at night with RainX on your windshield. I see every other car on the road whipping away with their blades and im just cruising along like the sun is out.

Doesnt solve the wet problem, But leaves your windows clean and without streaks, plus it took me 6 months to figure out what you all talking about windows streaks

how did this get on to be a topic about rain x anyway? went from a side window residue cure to how great you drive in rain with rain x on your front windshield

The discussion has not gone off topic. A few members mentioned the use of rainx as a way to minimize the water residue effect you are descibing shoe.

I think its also worth describing that when you use this product, it enhances the ability of your window seal to work like a squeegee.

Thats right.

I think my earlier reply was misleading saying "problem solved". While it is answer, it does solve the real problem with our passenger and driver windows still being wet, although you won't have "hard rain spots" if you use Rain-X, they won't be as much wet as before, and if you keep your windows up for a little bit while driving your window will be dry much faster because Rain-X forces water to repel off the the windows.
