As for the scratch, if it is deep enough through the paint, they'll have to repaint your side. If a light scratch, it might be able to be buffed out but you have to be forceful to have them fix it themselves or pay for someone you want to use.

They also need to fix your steering issues.

That really sucks man. I have the left drift but am afraid to take it back due to the very reason you stated. Best I can say is to go direct to the service manager, and if need be then go to Toyota customer service.

And there is the reason I refuse to have a dealer take care of my drift problem. My car's drift has become so minor that I am afraid of the dealer making it far worse.

Good luck.

I had a slight drift problem as well and it took them 3 tries to fix it. Overall, I'm happy with the fact that I did get it taken care of and not have to worry about it pulling to the left when I take my hand off the steering wheel. I would recommend anyone that has this left drift issue to get it fix. Before doing so, I would consult the service manager and have them explain in details of what they are going to do to try and fix the issue. My local Toyota was quite knowledgable about the left drift and that's why they were able to fix it.

Check out this thread for further details.

As for the scratch, you better go show some AUTHORITY when approaching them about it, cause they gonna try their best not to fix it.

Hope this helps and good luck.

drifting

Postby bronzemaxell » Sun Jun 20, 2004 8:03 pm

for some reason, i always thought something wrong with the alignment,
then i drive on the passing lane, (left lane), the car drift to left, then i drive on right lane, it is pulling to the right. and this is on a straight highway, going 70mph, maybe something wrong with my tires or the road is not even.

For water drainage on highways, the road is angled slightly to where the drains are. What you describe doesn't sound that odd. Is it a small drift?

yeah, it is a small drift, i would said if take my hand off the steering wheel going 60 or 70 mph, and count about 5 seconds, the car will try to shift to the next lane slowly.

If you find a road that is 100% level, the engineer was an idiot. Nearly all roads are angled in one direction, sometimes two directions if it is multi-lane. The car will want to follow whatever direction the road is angled and is not a defect. The angle is for water drainage.

BTW, legal action is never easy.
