Any info on 2005 coupes?

Postby slingshot » Sun Jun 06, 2004 2:41 pm

I'm guessing the 2005's come out the same time the 2004's came out - end of summer. I highly doubt there are any major changes like HID's. A midlife refresh (halfway through five year life) usually happens with cars so you'd have to wait another year or two for any significant changes. I'm guessing at most we'll see color changes this time.

It's the most popular color right now. Dark Grey is Just a fad. Remember Teal in the mid 90's UGHHHHHHHH. Copper and dark gray are the new hot colors. It will pass

They should add yellow and a bright bright royal blue. 6 disc changer standard would be nice
more stuff from TRD would be a great. Dont hold your breath with all the SCION hoopla though

I doubt there would be any changes. Maybe minor cosmetics.

The only changes would be more or less standard features (usually 1 or 2 more if any) and price adjustment up or down a little bit. And most of the issues facing the 04 should be fixed (TSBs, part updates, etc... maybe more dampening material)

honestly i dont believe theres going to be a single change on the car except for possible paint colors and interier small adjustments. i have to agree i want to see the "phantom grey" as toyota likes to call it on this car. more then likely they will offer the sport package on the next convertable, or maybe at the same around the time the next hardtop is out. the one thing i deffinately want to see is a new spoiler, but i think i can just keep dreaming (even tho must of us feel the same way).

in the '05, small kinks are probably going to be worked out (like drifting, squeeks, and guage lights) most of which have already been work out on newer '04s. issues always arise when your dealing with a new model/generation (being that the 04 is basicly a completely different car), we're all just lucky we havent gone through what so many 350Z owners have gone thru... i mean how many people have you seen selling there 2 month old gen2 because they're tired of putting up with it? but you wont believe how many 2000mile used Zs there were here in tampa.

TRD is always slow about putting out parts (except the scion crap) so its not like they are waitting on newer models for newer parts. but besides the supercharger, what are we really expecting? maybe new intake, full exhust, and a grille? what else are we missing? (dont forget trd only does so much, because they dont void ur warrenty)
