doen't anyone from toyota live in the real world? i've been contemplating buying a solara as i've said in nprevious posts, and i don't relish the day i walk out to my solara in a parking lot and see the ding from some inconsiderate ass who kicked open their door into mine. Has anyone put bodyside moldings on their solara or looked into it?

No bodyside molding here. I just try to park far from others and pray. I'm wondering if anyone has had dings yet from someone else's door.

No damage from other people. Just damage from my dog pushing the door open while I was getting out, resulting in my door hitting another car (I know the owner, the mark came right out) and removing a bit of paint.

Any damage to my car has been a result of my stupidity (or my dog's). LOL

BODY SIDE MOULDINGS

Postby HomeboyMI » Wed Jun 02, 2004 7:35 pm

MET A LADY IN SAN DIEGO WITH A RED SOLARA JUST LIKE MINE. SHE HAD THE DEALER INSTALL THOSE BLACK GLUE ON BODY SIDE MOULDINGS. I WOULD RATHER HAVE SMALL DINGS THAN THAT. IT LOOKED AWFUL.

I'm with Slingshot on this one. Get used to parking in BFE and walking a mile each time you go to the stores. That's the best thing I can recommend.

Oh please, oh please no dings or accident to my 04 Solara and others as well...please

they dont have to look awful. believe me,i wouldnt put anything on my car that doesnt look like it belongs there. ive hit a few websites today and found some very unobtrusive flat and narrow side moldings that can be painted to match the car. i will research it until i find the right one. i also remember seeing these magnetic side moldings that you can attach to the car when parked and remove when you get back to your car. im searching them out too. sounds like the best idea.
