anyone here who hasn't experienced the left drift problem?

anyone here who hasn't experienced the left drift problem?

I must admit I was a little concerned when I learned of the left pull problem on the 04 Solara. Anyway it did not deter me from purchasing the car. In fact I even mentioned to the sales guy when we were test driving the car. He knew nothing about it and look kind of dumbfounded. Like I expected him to admit he knew about it. Anyway I am only 700 mile into driving my car and have not experienced the drift problem and doubt I will. Who has not exprienced it at all or if you started not to have the problem when did it creep up on you?

Noone yet said it creeped up on them. So you either have it at the beginning or don't have it. Enjoy your straight ride. It should stay that way unless you hit a big pothole.

Left drift

Toyota corrected the problem on the assembly. The vin's where the correction was made are listed in other posts on the topic.

I agree with the "soft" steering. I would much prefer more road feedback and solid feel in the steering.

left drift

Postby engslut » Fri May 07, 2004 11:57 pm

I'm glad i came on this site b/c i noticed the left drift on mine and notified the dealer during my first oil change there. He told me it was b/c I drive in the left lane on major highways and the road is curved for the water, but now I know he was bullshitting me. What has everyone done about this problem....does the dealership u bought it from fix it for free....and what do u tell them if they have no clue bout this?
Any advice would be really helpful...thanx

That's full of crap. They told me the same thing. Your dealership should fix it. It took them 3 attempts before the lead tech knew exactly what he was talking about and I had him ride with me and he explained to me about the TSB issue. Check out this thread for more details.

Postby engslut » Sat May 08, 2004 12:42 am

Thanks for some advice on this...but do u know exactly what it was they did on the 3rd time u took it in to get fixed. I wanna make sure they fix it right away and be able to tell them what to do if they play stupid again.
