3 days and 3 problems

3 days and 3 problems

Postby NOBOOST » Wed Mar 03, 2004 1:59 pm

Well, I have had my solara for 3 days now... and have found 3 minor problems

#1- crazy whisling noise on drivers corner window... I have found a "dent" in the weatherstripping.

#2- I think I have the "drift" problem

#3- when opening the door I hear a click from the rear ( maybe the fuel door?? ) ...

This problem is also on my 03 xle v6 camry... but it never happens at the dealer!!!!

My dealer will take care of all this so it is no big deal but was wondering if anyone else had these issues??

LOL

Check the other posts...

Plenty of problems... more than what you're seeing.
Good luck on your quest to have the dealer fix it.

I recently had mine into the dealer for wind whistle/water leak at the driver's door glass by the "B" piller. The dealer said there was no adjustment for the glass. I say "bullshit", and I told them I wanted it documented anyway.

Well ... it has already been fixed...

buckeyegirl??

the problem with the weatherstripping is the fact that there is a dent in the top corner that allows water and air to penetrate... causing noise and i guess leaking ... take a look and look at the passenger side too...it looks as if it were smashed by the installers.

It must be a known issue or I am totally lucky because my dealer had the piece in stock... it looks right now.

I am dumbfounded at all the people on this website that badmouth toyota and their customer service...

I have had many toyotas and most were solid and reliable but I also had a 2000 celica gts and I blew 2 engines on the car in the first 12 months... Toyota stepped up and bought the car back at full purchase price... and sold me a loaded out highlander for cost $21k (sticker was $35+k )...

In comparison ...

I just had a VW jetta and after 18 months of MANY problems (non fixed right) there customer service told me that after you buy a car it is up to the dealer to fix and the dealers are not owned by vw so I need to take up the issue with them.

With a new gen car you really should expect some minor probs and I guarantee you if you talk to the right people at Toyota you will get results. You really have to talk to customer service and let them know that the problems will not go away and kindly ask them to refer the issue to your local rep...you will get results...some dealers are just stupid and care less about customer service... I am fortunate to have a very good friend that is a GM so maybe that is why I get treated differently but I doubt it because I have seen other people get treated the same way...

I got to drive a landcruiser all day today

Hey, I'm just telling you what the dealer said. What I'm saying is I can't believe there's no adjustment for the door glass. It sounded to me like the mechanic just didn't want to mess with it.
