You can wax the day you pick the car up. Only on aftermarket paint jobs do you need to wait.

Buy Klasse All-in-One and Klasse Sealant Glaze.

Klasse Councourse Kit:
- All in One
- High Gloss Sealant
- two microfiber applicators

Add Blitz 10 Grand on top for extra Bling 2x

I'd wait a month to be totally safe on new finish before applying wax. The best wax according to many Internet car forums (BMW, Infiniti, Acura, etc) and professional comparison testing is Zaino. Check out www.zainobros.com. I've used it and it is the easiest to apply and remove. Zero elbow grease.

By the time the car has reached the owner's hands, the paint is cured well enough to not be harmed by waxing. Factory paint is baked on.

BTW, the "guest" post above is mine. I thought I was logged in.

TW85 is right  - no need to wait since the factory paint is baked on. In fact, I waxed within a week after it came off the delivery truck. For whatever it's worth, ConsumerReports.org rated Zymol one of their best, especially for black paint. Though the durability wasn't as good as some other waxes, it had the fewest swirls in their testing and gave an outstanding wet look.

BTW, never use "detergent" on automotive paint!
