Do you see many 04 Solaras on the road?

Do you see many O4's on the road?

Have had my 04 on the road since 12/12. Have seen one other in Bellevue, and another in Seattle. Both red. Crossing the floating bridge in heavy traffic last week a guy next to me eying my O4 ended up hitting the car in front of him. Unfortunate. Lot of people asking me how I like it. Sure is fun to drive. :-?

I know two guys with 2000 Accords that have that tranny problem and one guy with an Acura on his third tranny. Major pain. Both Accords and BMW's are car mag darlings.

Dude, even my 2004 SLE V6 got some tranny problem sometime - granted it's only minor slips going from 1st to 2nd.

But over time, who'd know?

Not trying to be a party basher here, but it's a bit too early to say our cars will be reliable.

If our car isn't reliable, then the four door Camry, Lexus ES330, and Toyota Siena also won't be since they share the same engine and transmission. Haven't heard any news on those other cars so far developing problems. That is what makes me pretty confident my engine and transmission have a pretty good chance of lasting a long time. Toyota seems (so far at least) to do their design homework better than Honda which really messed up their transmission design. They didn't just have some randomly fail, it was a bad design from the start and that's a proven fact.

Me too. I work in gov't and there are a couple thousand people in my building. When I was car shopping, I spoke to every Accord owner at work that I could find and asked about the car. Quite a few mentioned tranny problems including a pair of 03' owners.

I'm not trying to bash the car, but their recent history doesn't quite match the car mag reviews it gets.
