Yes the car is the pearl white. Anything that can be done about the color. Warranty?

Yes, it stays in 4th only when 1st started and cold. Thanks for the info. At least that seems normal.

I've looked into the FM modulated cd changers, don't think I would be happy with the sound. Hopefully Toyota will have one that connects direct.

As for the tranny, there was one other post here on the tranny slipping. Mine feels like it does also when it's in its sloooooow shift mode.

Can you get the lemon law thing if you take it to the dealer a number of times and they say they can't find anything wrong, but yet you know there is?

Thanks

Sorry, but that color shows the difference between the bumper and body more than any other color does. That's the reason I'm never getting that color again. You just have to accept the very slight color difference as natural. Like I said, other car manufacturers show the same thing.

I thought the lemon law was they can't fix a problem after several times. Don't think it pertains if they say they don't even see a problem.

That is appalling! I can't believe a dealership would do something like that. Call Toyota and report it! Then call the Better Business Bureau!

WHat he said.

Don't just sit there and take that. If you complain you'll get results. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Call Toyota Customer Support and tell them how you feel.

Yes I filed a complaint with the gov web site and with Toyota.
I hope everyone with this problem files with
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) database.

Toyota sent an auto respond during the holidays and I expect to hear from them.

Thanks for all your support.

glenb, I feel for you.

The "FIX" that my dealer gave me was to adjust the suspension height differently between left & right. Yeah right! Like I was born yesterday...

Do we have to have an accident to file complain with NHTSA?

left drift

Postby glenb » Tue Jan 06, 2004 6:28 pm

I just got of the phone with Toyota and the rep said Toyota is in the development stage for a correction. Est 2-3 weeks. He is going to have the dealer customer relations personal call me. I will try to remain calm.

I think we should have a thread just for the left drift problem so we can share information. The Toyota rep responded positively when I told him I had a lot of info from other Solara owners.

Does anyone know where to find the official (from Toyota) TSB for ST005-1. I got my info from alldata.com I think it is correct but not official.

What I found is the TSB is for 1998 & 2002 Lexus truck's steering column squeak/vibration. ie not related to the Solara or left drift.

You do not need to have an accident to file a complaint with NHTSA. The more complaints the better the response.

I think we will get this fixed. The Solara is a great car and I want it to be a fun car to drive.

Check out these threads:
- '04 Solara T.S.B. issued! (posted by Buckeyegirl)
- check edmunds.com forum regarding left pull problem (posted by myself)

FYI, Toyota told me it would take 2-3 weeks to fix my car... two months ago! Go figure...
