Dyno Run

Postby [SMAN] » Sat Nov 14, 2009 6:35 pm

So today my club had Dyno day again. We had a lot of good runs today including a 2006 Ford GT doing about 515HP at the wheels and a Mitsubishi Eclipse DSM doing 450HP under 30+ pounds of boost. Anyways I managed an extra 5 HP over last year. The engine is stock, and we had some problems keeping it from downshifting, but here is the chart showing my pulls once i got things dialed in.

How did you get 5 more hp than last time if you were stock the whole time?

To be honest, i'm not sure. The relative temperature and humidity were roughly the same this time vs last year. This time i tried not to let the auto trany shift my ramping up my acceleration rather than mashing the pedal. The guys were saying something about rotational mass of replaceing my brakes with the slotted/cross drilled but i wouldn't think it's enough of a difference. I've done things like reset the ecu and change the oil and air filter but the engine hasn't really changed, i've just been working on suspension and chasis. here is a shot of last year's run against this years run ... note the shift point where it finaly shifts into gear at around 4.5K

Ohh, and here is me on the dyno.

Looks like last years was just a bad pull. (002 in red)
It just didn't read the low end HP due to tranny fussing no doubt. So it missed the peak HP. Not much change in the rest of the curve so I'd consider them consistent.
