hi,
I just got a used 06 solara SE V6 spt. Everything is pretty good, except that I noticed when running on highway (>40mph), there's sound from air outlet on the front passenger side.
The noise is not so loud but very annoying. It's pretty screamy like wind blowing through a tiny slot. I'm wondering if that's because I need to change the air filter of the car?

Also, I'm wondering if you guys have any recommendations on how to play mp3 on the sound system. I've tried the tape input but it's not working well.

Thanks!

Z

I also have a 2006 SE sport, and had the same noise. What the issue was on mine, is the trim around the window (at the top) wasn't put in right, and they had to redo it about 3 times before it finally went away, luckily it was covered in the warranty, but they only agreed that it was covered after I disputed 2 thousand dollars on the car (payed for it with credit card)... but they never asked for the 2 grand back... so its my money now!! haha

Thanks all,

I have another question, my solara doesn't come with the remote controller. Do you guys suggest me to go to the dealer to get one, or if the ones selling on ebay cheaply would work on it?

You mean the remote to lock, unlock, etc. it?

I would PERSONALLY go to the dealer so theres no complications, unless you know how to program these remotes, I know the key is easy to program (has a chip in it so you cant hotwire the car), as i had to get new keys made when i first got the car cause the salesguy damaged them, but never had to replace the remote

You can try getting the remote off ebay and learn to program it. It's kinda tricky.

That's the thing. Once I find out I can't get it programmed I'll still have to go to the dealer. So deciding if i should just go to the dealer directly..

Its not that the actual remote will cost a lot its the programming part of it that the dealer will rip you off!
