Spotted a Solara cop car this morning

Postby wkbrdr91 » Sun Aug 30, 2009 6:00 am

I'm not sure where that is... but I live right by the temple in the neighborhood called Harbor Isle (on lake down).

I'm sure youve seen me around town, if not heard me. I have a bunch of friends that whenever i follow them, or they follow me, that they can hear my sound system louder than their own haha.

My neighborhood is on the junction between cr535 and Chase road.

I think I have seen your car driving down the road near Universal Studios before. It was a Black Gen 2 with BBS rims and dark tint just like yours, I wouldn't be surprised if that was you haha. I have only seen Gen 2 Solaras that are rolling on BBS rims twice.

My question is... when they arrest someone, does the criminal sit in the back? The trunk IS pretty roomy though.

I wouldn't know but I am guessing they would call up a sedan for picking up instead.

Have you ever been to the Orlando SpeedWorld drag strip?

I always wanted to set up a meet with the Florida SG members at the strip and have fun but it never happened. The last SG car meet @ Funspot was epic fail and the FL SG chapter haven't had a good meet since.

I haven't heard of it, but i do know alot of people go to the Central Florida Racing Complex (http://cfracingcomplex.com/) this place is actually free all night if you get there at a certain time or only 15 bucks for the night if you get there at a different time.

Might be better to start a meet there, its a really nice place and everyone goes there.

A lot of municipalities confiscate cars from drug dealers and racketeers and convert them into cop cars. Some other cities actually buy confiscated cars from other cities and retrofit them for police duty. We used to have a Vette that roamed around Cleveland back over 20 years ago but it literally fell apart chasing a Chevette and was put out of service. A suburb called Westlake has retrofitted a Range Rover, but I think it may be retired once the gear shift, door and steering wheel start breaking off in the cops hand.

True dat!! I think a car chase with two Gen2's would be cool until they decide to slow down and take a corner. I can just see the police helicoptor commentary on "World's Boringest Police Chases":"Okay, we got a fat black guy in a White Solara being chased by an officer ALSO in a Solara....they're both reaching speeds up to 120mph on the straightaways.........now they're both slowing down to make a left......uh, they seem to be unable to power out of the turn......why are they both slowing down.......oh, wait, no, it was just lag.....it was just lag, folks.....this chase is not over......now their gearing up......ohhh, too late a cop just walked over, reached in and shut the engine off before the driver could get the car outta second, this chase is over!"

now that you say that... my friend told me that he knew of a drug dealer (in orlando) who had the same car as me... maybe he got caught lol

Also, most D.A.R.E. (Drugs Are Really Exciting) promotional cop cars are confiscated bling from drug dealers.

dude some areas around here are crawling with any type of cop car you can think of. one notorious guy roams apopka vineland in a older style f150 with a bed that looks like its for construction workers, but its a cop. theres also mustangs, camaros, civics etc that i have heard of that go to red lights and rev their engines at other cars.

I live in Windermere, those Windermere Police Force don't really have the budget to get new cars, they still drive around in old Crown Vics and base model durangos.

The place near the Windermere Prepartory school is loaded with cops these days, bike cops (at least four of them) clocks people in the morning for like an hour on some days.

When I was on vacation in FL I saw that f150, I think it was white (the truck). A few cops came out in plain clothes with the vest over their shirts and stopped a ricer on 192 or 528 (forgot where).

Yeah, and tell him how to upgrade car and make it faster, suggest turbo or supercharger, etc...haha!

Yeah, we also get a lot of Cop cars in here from drug dealers and crap...funny thing watching a Hyundai as a cop car (and it wasn't no Tiburon V6 manual)!

And Bob...I loved the Solara chases Solara "movie trailer"...haha.
