Air conditioner acting funky

Air conditioner acting funky

Postby mholland » Fri Aug 21, 2009 1:46 pm

Hello,
I have an '04 Solara Convertible. Love it. Got it used last year. The air conditioner is automatic.

When the air conditioner is on, however, the fan speed increases and decreases very fast like someone puffing hard, then soft, then hard, then soft. The fan bar indicator remains on the same horizontal bar.

I know it is automatic, so I expect it to adjust for conditions. But the fan speed changes about every 3 seconds for at least a minute.

The dealership told me that this is normal.

I don't buy it. Anyone have any ideas what is going on?

Thanks for your help.
