Automatic Door Locks

Postby know1uno » Sun Mar 01, 2009 6:54 pm

I previously had a 2002 Solara and just recently purchase a 2006 SE Solara.

When I put the car in drive, the doors lock automatically. I don't remember or not if the 2002 model did that, but I don't think so.

My question is this, is there any way to turn that feature off? Just curious.

I have a 99 SE with the auto locks feature. I liked having the doors lock when I put it in gear and unlock when I turn off he car. Then I had my alarm installed and it wouldnt do it anymore. The guy at my local audio/alarm install place told me it has something to do with the factory alarm. So Im thinkin that the alarm changes in each generation of the Solara.

What guy in their right mind would ever think of reading an owner's manual or listening to that CD that came with my car????

:P

Thanks, I'll go check both of those sources out.
