Gen 2 Floor Mat Clips

Gen 2 Floor Mat Clips

Postby MCOjerry » Mon Dec 15, 2008 6:18 pm

Hi everyone,

I had to buy some new floor mats because, well...let's say I stepped in something I didn't care to try to get out

Anyway, they come with the floor mat clips, and I already have them. So, if anyone out there is missing theirs and would like these, they are yours. First person to PM their address gets them (free). Merry Christmas.

Also, for anyone who is interested; I had mentioned that the mats I bought before did not match. Others chimed is with the same problem. It appears that maybe Toyota slightly changed the colors. Anyway, I have the dark stone interior and the dark stone mats were way too light. This time I bought the dark charcoal mats, and they match much better. I thought some out there might want to know that.

Anyway, thanks.

I think it has been discussed before, but I had the same exact problem. I was luckily able to exchange the mats for the dark charcoal mats.

Just for giggles, here is the dark stone I got that was supposed to match.

And here's a shot of the better match after I exchanged them.

They obviously do match much better! :shocked!:

In a few PMs between Regie and I. He confirmed that toyota flipped the part numbers between the two options. So the color points to the wrong one in the system.

That's odd, because what they call dark stone is nowhere near a dark charcoal. I know he works at a dealership, but I really think they changed the colors. If they flipped the part numbers, you'd think that what they want to call dark stone would be almost black.

No one needs the clips?? Well, I guess I'll just keep 'em.

How much did the mats set you back? Did you buy just the front mats, or are they in a set with the rears?

You can't just buy fronts, you have to buy the whole shebang
:-(

They were $103 with the tax, but I'm not too far off from lease end, so I'll need the OE mats & I don't like non OE ones.

I do have some good shape dark stone rear mats if anyone wants to buy them, those I won't give away for free and they'd cost a lot more than clips to mail.

I bought a set at TRDparts4u - cost was around 86 w/ the shipping. The clips go for about a buck or 2. Weird with the color differences though. I've only seen dark stone and charcoal on the lunar mists. Charcoal was for the "sport" interior.

Over 100 bucks sounds expensive, I got mine for 80 bucks from TRDparts4u after shipping...

$20 bucks for the convenience of walking in and taking them home is worth it to me.
