battery draining..? odometer

battery draining..? odometer

Postby lightguypro » Sun Dec 07, 2008 2:04 pm

Hello, Noticed the past couple of days seems if my car is sitting over night that the battery seems really weak when starting it..it turns over fine..just takes a little more to turn over and the warning lights that come on are flashing like if the battery dead when trying to start it..

anyhow..noticed today that my odometer stays on the whole time after car is shut off and keys are out and doors locked...is this normal?

would cold weather be draining the battery?

thanks for all your help in advance...

I didn't think the odo would stay on all the time- I'll check when I go home from work.

This post reminds me of another SG who had a bad ignition switch that was causing the lights and other things to stay on. I would be checking into that if you find your battery is good (or if you replace the battery only to find that the problem persists).

Good luck!

the odo doesn't stay on all the time. It has a timer on it but basicly it's the first to turn on and the last to turn off. It will turn on when you open the drive door and i think even when unlocking the car. It will stay on as long as the keys are in the ignition (even if it's in off).
