Another bulb out on my Gen 2, need parts help

So add this to the list of random, stupid things to break on this car. I have the analog HVAC controls (dials) and the far right temp dial lamp is out. It has flickered off and on for a few months but now is completely out. Parts guy tells me that the whole unit needs to be replaced at a ridiculous $500 plus just for the part. Is there any bulb from another part that I can swap for that?

What about the digital controls, is that plug & play if I found one somewhere?

Digital controls have a different wire system as it has an extra sensor, so the plugs are different. I was under the impression that the system was bulbless and instead used LEDs for lighting. One of these days i'm gonna take it apart cause i want to change the color.
