Stock ECU fuel delivery and capacity

Stock ECU fuel delivery and capacity

Hi everybody... LONG TIME!

I really don't know where to post, either here or in aftermarket, but here it goes...

I plan to build the engine into a high compression (HC) 2AZ-FE setup. Why NA? Because I won't get into as much problems with the cops and such, while having a sleeper setup. Goal might be 200hp (not whp) and I know the 2az-fe is capable of it. However, I wonder how the stock ECU will handle such modification.

I'm thinking the stock ECU could possibly handle the task, and the injectors in our cars atomize fuel pretty good, although there might a need to put bigger injectors. Fuel pump necessary?

Simply put, am I trying to fetch the impossible? I know there is another Solaraguy member with HC setup here, but he mentioned the car ran fine with 87 octane, no difference in power from 93 octane fuel, although it definitely ran harder.

I'm open to all comments and suggestions.

None taken. Either way, learn a little spanish and I'll show you guys how to have a REALLY good time down here! :P

We didn't miss much...just that I should post about topic in scion tC forum and probably get more results. Still, the main topic stays the same. Most people here just turboed their 2az-fe (awesome results), but I want to have a sleeper and try to keep stock ECU if possible.

thats the best route to go with the 2az boosted, n/a is kind of spending a lot of money without getting satisfying result however if you go with nitrous oxide those are other 20$

I know the best and easiest route is to go boosted, but I'm seeing a lot of other problems down the road that way. Even though hp/$ is lower with HC NA, I bet it would still be very satisfying and even more satisfying that not too many people have such setup. I would also like to go SC, but would like either a whipple, rotrex or rotrex with antonov setup, neither available for the 2AZ-FE. I also like the idea of placing a call to Larry Widmer and see what could come up.

Oh, and I could also go Nitrous with HC NA.
