Swap SLE gauge cluster for SE sport gauge Cluster

Swap SLE gauge cluster for SE sport gauge Cluster

Postby BadAngel » Sun Jun 01, 2008 7:26 pm

I have a 2004 SLE v6 with the white gauges... I really happen to like the SE sport gauges with the black background and blue back lights... I was wondering if its possible to swap the two. Has anyone done this before? Does anyone know if the plugs are the same between the SE sport and the SLE, or even the 4cyl and the 6 cyl? ( i am assuming they are lol...) Also, if it is possible are there any complications with the mileage or gas gauge?

i dont think the SE sport ones have a blue backlight....
its more grayish white? unless ur talking about the 07 sle? i think

also if its a 4cyl gauge then the 04-05 ones dont have the sport shifting space it has the 1 2 3 gears
the 06 4cyl however has the sport shifting window

even with a cracked lens i can just put the lens from my current one on it.

heres an 07 one i have even less hope that this one is compatible... even so theres no way i am paying 280 for it lol...

I see what your saying... i dunno wtf is up with the sales brochure, cuz its like BRIGHT blue in the picture that it has lol... well in any event... i still like yours better, the black background just looks better... Don't you agree?? Now the only problem is... will it just plug right in there without any issues?

PS: I took a picture of the sales brochure just so u can see how i thought it was blue xD... (the caption reads "SE Sport comes standard with its own distinct set of gauges") and its an 04 SE Sport V6

funny because I always liked the SLE backlit ones more than my V6 SE Sport gauge cluster...I have no idea how to get it out of there or what I would do with no instrument panel for the week it would take to swap.

I figure the odometer and the fuel readings are based on sensors and memory in the ECU. The instrument panel is probably a dumb device...plug and pray.
