New Windshield

New Windshield

So, I am getting a new windshield today, or I should say, "was supposed to."

The tech got here, and immediately decided he must have the wrong molding. Looked at the molding on the car, and started making calls. They looked it up by VIN #, checked with the dealer, and everything seems to say it is the right thing, but when he looks at it, he thinks it is wrong. It was pointed out that it was a convertible from the beginning, so that should not be the issue, and the VIN points that out anyway, right?

So, has anyone else had problems changing their convertible's windshield as far as part #s, confused window techs, and so forth?

I just had mine replaced at the body shop in April, but I wasn't aware of any issues with it. Looks and feels like OEM to me.

Good luck!

UPDATE: Well, I guess there are two types. I don't know all of the details, but the windshield place called another Toyota dealership in town, and they had another part # and it is on order. So, I'm rescheduled for Friday morn. Fingers crossed. This is where I decide I am glad the dude did not start ripping the old windshield out before noticing.
