Fuse Problem

Postby someazn » Sun Mar 09, 2008 12:37 am

Okay, so I have hids for my foggies and have had them for about a month. They work great and all, but today, they did not turn on. So I check the fuse and the 10amp fuse at the kick panel for fog was blown. I replaced the fuse and it blew again. I then replaced it with a 15 amp fuse, and they now work (not smart but experimenting). But for some odd reason, my headlights (also hids) are extremely dim now. When I take out the 15 amp fuse for the fog, the headlights are bright again (as normal). Anyone have any ideas? This is really confusing me. Also, would the higher amp fuse for the fogs cause any problem?

Excessive current draw. And using a higher amp fuse will eventually fry those wires

I take it you didn't install the HID's properly. You really need to install them using a relay, and this is a perfect example of why.

Re-install them using a relay, and you'r problems should be solved.
