Not sure about that theory - but I know a lot of the high-end Euro cars have had light washers on them for decades. I think it's probably more of a climate thing (driving in a lot of rain/snow). We have no need for them here in California - just gotta scrape bugs off once in awhile. ;)

As an aside, my 2001 Acura CL came standard with HID's. It had no washer. It's true that many of the HID equipped cars do have washer units, but not all of them.

in the USA, headlight washers are not required for HIDS. to be european complient, OEMs that have HIDs are required to have headlight washers to reduce glare. ECODE also requires a sharper cuttoff for the headlights as well as a steep steping on the passenger side for road signs. I'm not sure what russia requires, but my guess is it is a matter of inspection and i doubt a cop will pull you over for not having washers. Just keep your lights clean as much as you can.

when you live in the country with very muddy and dusty roads you understand you do need light washers.

so i'll try to do my best with installing them from some other car, i guess they will be "instant"-type, i mean no-hiding-feature.
