I love the Gen 2!

I actually prefer the look of gen1 since it seems to have more of a classic sports car look. However, rollaevo99's gen2 is my absolute favorite of all that I've seen on here. The color and the grille match so perfectly and I think it improved the look of the car immensely. If I had a gen2 I would probably do the same, except it would be a convertible. :) It's too bad that Toyota might stop producing the Solara after next year... *sigh*

If that happens, I'd probably start going for an Altima coupe/convertible. But for now, I love my 'lara and I plan on keeping her for as long as possible.

Glad you liked the Gen2... but I think its the tranny that has the issue not the throttle assembly. Try using the "manual mode" and put it in the gear you should be in (if you were driving stick -- i.e. if you are going 50 or 60 put it in 3rd gear) and then mash on the gas... bye bye lag...

Yea Posh i tried that it was pretty fun. But im pretty sure the lag has to do with the electronic throttle, because if you drive a 98-00 GS400 which used the cable throttle and then drove the 01-05 GS430 you would notice the lag its because in 2001 they switched to the electronic throttle and it has its benefits.

I still prefer the gen1/1.5 solely due to the fact of the blower and being manual (V6 that is). 8) Although, I really like the hard look of the gen2 slammed....
