question about new wheels

question about new wheels

Postby combinationLock » Sat May 05, 2007 11:46 am

So my bro is thinking about donating his 18 inch enkeis to me. The problem is that the wheels required.. lug space convertors? im not sure what its called, but he had to buy them in order to place the wheels on his car.

He said that my gen 2's lug spacing is probably the same as his rsx. so i may have to use the convertors.

At the moment i cant really take the wheels off and compare, but would prolonged driving with these spacer-things damage anything?

just an fyi, i kind of hit a curb in the winter and so my wheels were angled slightly. im not sure if it affected the axles or what but when i went to get my wheels rotated the mechanics didnt say anything about it.

this a pic i took off the official site but these are the wheels that he bought. im not too sure of other specs.

i appreciate any input on this matter.

5x114.3 i believe are the specs for the Solara and many hondas. +40 to about +48 offset would be ideal.

Enkei LM1/5 fit without any problem. +40offset is good but +38 looks better (+48 for a 8" width rim would look to weak !)

those wheels are sweet! Those are the ones I originally had ordered, but they got all scratched up from the staples in the shipping boxes...I was sick.

If you can make them work, they are beautiful wheels and you will not be dissapointed.

Well it seems that the Enkeis he gave me are 5x100. So he gave me his 5x100 to 5x114.3 wheel adapters as well. Has anyone had any opinions/ problems with wheel adapters?
