simple answer to your question, engine running it will show 1rpm
engne off it will show "ZERO" .........

Not for nothing guys, but don't ya think you're being a little cruel to the guy? I mean, maybe this is his first car with a RPM gauge. Some cars don't come with one, so he's never realized what it's for. EX: Honda Civic HX and Toyota Corolla CE don't come with the RPM meter.
