hey guys i have an 04 v6, the maintenance light was flashing at startup 6 times and now it just stays on, is this a true indicator that i need to change my oil? its been almost 3K miles already..or is it just some crap that the dealers set to scam you? thanks guys have a good one

there's a way to turn it off...read your manual.

or try this.

Step 1 Turn the key to the 'on' position.

Step 2 Reset both trip meters to zero. you can reset the trip meters to zero by selecting trip A or trip B and holding in the trip meter button for five (5) seconds.

Step 3 After both trip meters are reset, select any trip meter and hold in the trip meter button and start the car.

Step 4 Continue holding the trip meter button until the "maintenance required' light disappears.

lol, i tried and tried and couldnt get it to work, one of my trip meters was at 6K so thats prob what triggered it, going to change oil now and then reset it...if not im taking it to the dealer to get anally rheamed, lol jk

You don't have to reset both trip odometers. But reading the manual helps.

Just hold in the trip odo reset and turn the key one position. (Accessory on) The odometer will change to " ------ " after five seconds or so like stated above. The Maint light will go off. It comes on (if I remember correctly) every 3K miles.

ur trip meter shouldn't be the one to trigger it
my trip meter B has never been reset....but it only goes to 10k
its at about 9k now and my maintenence light isn't on
